Dustin Whitehead

With over 14 years experience in motocross, working with former British Champion Greg Hanson taught me a lot on riding. Greg put me under his wing from 2004 through to beginning of 2006, working on the team race bikes, and coaching lessons through the week, racing with him and the team weekly. I also worked in a Yamaha bike shop called Moto Ward, in the work shop and raced with there team from 2002 to midway 2003.

After Traveling around Southern Africa and Europe racing competing in different types of events starting with bmx to motocross enduro super cross baja and even the friendly handicap races at the local tracks. Motocross and super cross being my main focus though a 3 hour endurance event I would not shy away from.

I have now stepped over the pond to America following a dream I've had since I was a boy I'm Based in Florida and have already had some decent results, finishing 6th at my first pro super cross event in kissimee on a 2005 crf 450 since that I had some bike problems but was still able to pull together a 5th in the winter ams at waldo, and win the four stroke and A class at the FTR event in seminole.

After the potential I showed on an old bike I was able to secure a sponsor who helped me get a new 2008 yzf 450 but unfortunately there was an issue and the bike had to be fixed under warranty only after 10hours use.Which was extremely unlucky, and the service from the shop was very poor it took more than two weeks to get the bike back.

Now I am ready to get started to focus and train hard i've set myself a training program in the gym running cycling and swimming living in Florida the weather is real good almost all the time and the heat is good for training. With the new bike and the correct people backing me up I'm looking forward to a good season of racing even though I have a lot more hard work to do to be where I want to be.

  14. Hey i'm just back from racing the florida series round 7 at thundercross,
what good weekend it was for Miami mx team taking 1st place in 5 classes, 2 of them i was good enough to grab.

In the 1st moto of the fourstroke class wich was stacked up with all the A riders and wild card Matt Georke putting some practice in for the AMA outdoors.
I was 2nd out the gate and was able to cling onto Matt for about a lap then i made some mistakes and was in with the back markers and was passed so i ended up 3rd

Moto 2 i got out the gate in 3rd place and made i real agressive pass on the 2nd turn to snatch 2nd i once again tried to keep with
Georke but i had more focus on keeping it on 2 wheels to grap the 2nd place, i was being challenged but a few riders but kept them at bay. Then on around lap 5 i saw Georke on the side of the track he'd crashed out and i took the lead and 1st place overall with a 3-1 finish

  15. In the 16-24 class,
I just nipped the holeshot i new this was important with this race being a litlle shorter, i put all i had into the first lap and i got a bit of arm pump but i had a small gap over 2nd place so i calmed my breathing and pace i looked around for some good lines.
but still keeping good pace i took 1st place

    Moto2 16-24
This race was my best ride my last ride of the day i pulled a real big holeshot i had found some really good lines on the track and after lap one i had about a three second lead, but i was feeling real good when the track was at its roughest i stood up and turned it on never looking back buy the end of the race i had about a 14 second lead

  16. In the Money class,
I had a real bad start i was trying far too hard as they put up $100 for the holeshot, and on the second turn i had to run way off the track to avoid two riders that went down.I really needed to do something to get in the money, i passed a few riders felling strong however i was unable to pass one rider fast enough being stuck behind him cost me and i finished 6th one place out of being paid.
